Sebastian was a Christian saint and martyr, who is said to have been killed while the Roman emperor Diocletian engaged in the persecution of Christians in the 3rd century. Saint Sebastian is usually depicted in art and literature tied to a post and shot with arrows. Some stories say he did not die from the arrows thought and as soon as the emperor discovered the fact the he was still alive, saint he was killed by a club.
